Friends of Our Valley was formed on 25th February 2009 with a meeting of members and the agreement of a constitution, voting in of the committee and voting for a name. Many of the members have been working for years informally for the objectives set out in the constitution and the formation of the official group will draw people together and hopefully achieve more than the sum of the individuals.
Being a member will help the work we do in the valley and we will keep you up to date about any news, meetings or events we have.
We hold regular Task Days and all are welcome to come and help.

Due the central position of Roman Lakes Leisure Park in Our Valley many activities are focused there and by kind permission of the owners access, parking and toilet facilities are free of charge.
Access
Vehicle access is mainly from Marple by Lakes Road. Access by Low Lea Road, Marple Bridge is also possible but not recommended.
Both ends of the valley are accessible for horses, bikes and walkers along the bridleways on Low Lea Road, Lakes Road, Old Hall Lane and through to Strines. Bridleways and footpaths also cross the valley at several points.
Parking
Parking on the access roads to the valley is not permitted at any time.

Brabyns Park,
Roman Lakes Leisure Park,
Marple Bridge,
Marple Ridge Quarry.
There is roadside parking at Arkwright Road, Marple.
Pay and Display Car Park (after 6 and weekends free), Memorial Park, Marple
Toilet Facilities
The only toilet facilities in Our Valley are at Roman Lakes Leisure Park. There are facilities in Marple and Marple Bridge but no facilities at Strines.
Food and Drink
A tea rooms and takeaway café at Roman Lakes serve hot and cold food and drinks.
